Anyone else think it was gonna be a Sixth Sense ending? *spoilers*

I love it when I'm wrong. I was so sure that the psychiatrist died in the initial car accident. I thought at the end we would see a replay of her losing control of her car (and maybe seeing her son in the depths) and then see the priest say "the lord taketh away" and cut to Dorothy emerging from the water with the spirit of Jane inside her. If Jane had actually been in Dorothy the entire film the story would have still made sense.

But I prefer the current ending.

anybody else have this thought while watching?

That wouldn't have been possible since she interracts with all the other characters. In Sixth Sense, Bruce Willis never interracts with anyone but Haley Joel Osment's character.

I was sort of starting to think it would be a Sixth Sense type of ending, also. Great movie!

me too.. specially on the part where she realizes she's been seen ghost, but then... it makes no sense.. because she interacts whit everyone in the town. at leat it was a ghost town

I was thinking the same. I though that there would be a scene where we see that the psychiatrist is actually Dorothy, because she died in the car accident, and everybody is pretending that she is a "real" psychiatrist. It could have been a possible ending as the folks in the town knew that she is not herself from time to time.

Actually I like my ending better, that the original was OK. ;)

Wow. Putting a spoiler in the subject line. Thanks.

OakWriter don't read boards reserved for discussions about the movie if you don't want to know what happened in the movie. It'll also save you looking like a moron.

Actually, I thought the whole movie was going to be like the Sixth Sense. Until the end, I thought it was going to turn out that the psychiatrist Jane was killed in the original accident in the lake.

Like you said,

If Jane had actually been in Dorothy the entire film the story would have still made sense.

The whole movie had the feel of a legend or myth updated to modern times. I like that.

The film "Carnival of Lost Souls" would be closer. It starts with a woman getting into a car accident, experiencing odd stuff for a week, and then the kicker is she actually died in the accident. Anyway, I thought this film would turn out like that and was glad it didn't.
