I have read several reviews of this film here on IMDB.
I think I may have watched a diff film. Because the one I watched with Julia Stiles was the WORST movie I have ever seen her in !!!!!!!
The story was so full of holes it was unbeliveable. They jumped all over the place with the story line. Had to back track and fill us in on details that they already shown. It was terrible in my opinion. A total waste of time. I would not reccomend this film to anyone, period....
Want to expand in what was wrong with it ? I personally enjoyed it, i thought it was a very well acted entertaining film with a subjective ending that leaves the viewer to fill in some gaps.

It totally sucked! one scene i didnt get was when they were in the office & the ex-wife says theres something i want to say...I changed my mind.... KIDDING!...Hahahah. & both lawyers burst out laughing. I didnt find this funny at all, it was cruel & just stupid, it made her seem unstable (turns out i was right) really really BAD movie.
Yes that was a point her wife was cruel and selfish and had a sadistic sense of humour...
shareBeen covered before, but remember she is/was an unstable alcoholic. When she wanted to talk to him outside, she really did want to reconcile. Note, she keeps contacting him and making up excuses to see him because she still wants to rekindle the relationship. Remember the item she claimed to leave with his stuff? When she realizes that there's no turning back and the hurtful things she did to him can't be taken back, rather than owning up to it she decides to take it out on him.
I've watched this movie 3 times in the last few months and I've liked it more and more on each viewing because it is so complex and there's a lot of detail you'll miss if you don't appreciate that.

shareWorst movie ever? Reading your post, it sounds to me more like you didn't understand the movie. Of course, if you need non stop action and jokes, this ain't the right movie for you.
I have to say, I really enjoyed this movie. It was.. different. He stalking her, she stalking him, he rejecting her, nothing was really predictable.
I would have appreciated, if there was more information about the relationship between his ex and Greg. The end was special, you can tell it comes from a novel. But I liked how it ended with him looking thourgh the window outside, the circle was completed.

Terrible on so many levels. Could have driven a bulldozer through some of the plot holes.
Was just plain stupid and as for the so-called "leading" actor, time for him to look elsewhere for a new career (definitely not in the film industry).

I'll give it to you that the movie was definitely not a masterpiece, but Paddy Considine is an amazing actor. He played the lonely role rather well in this movie, but I'm not going to try to change your mind regarding that aspect.
However, if you have seen him in other films, then you would appreciate his acting ability and, like me, appreciate his portrayal of Nick.
I think everyone should watch him in Dead Man's Shoes. It's not an action packed movie, but rather a story that leads you through a man's journey of revenge. His acting is amazing in that movie and I think once you see it and look back on him here, you'll have a better appreciation for his skills.
