I think they're done. Because thet're filming the movie already. I know because they're filming the movie right next to my house.

thats cool, I live right in Clarkston, and I know Holly is pretty small, is it big deal up there? Did you get to meet any stars of the film or anything?

reply

no i dont think to many people know about it....and about meeting the stars...there is security everywhere and wont let us anywhere near there

When I went to the ren fest this weekend they had a casting lady there and she was taking some pictures and phone numbers to get extras for the movie.

There were, in fact, two casting people there at the MI Renaissance Fair. We did take a lot of photos and get a lot of numbers and names - but we are looking for more people to fill in for crowd scenes.

The filming will begin on the 15th of September, and run through the 20th of October.

If you would be interested in becoming an extra in the movie, please email us your age, availability and contact information (a personal phone number at which we can reach you), and we will get back with you as quickly as we are able, either by email or by phone.

Not certain about where it is (or even what movie you are refering to), but until production begins (here in HOLLY, MI), security for the festival grounds is as it always is.

Thanks

I have worked out at MRF for many years.
If security for the festival grounds is as it always is, then why was our hard passes taken away on Monday night?
I also found out that we are going to be getting a single day paper pass for every faire day, plus being shipped in every morning from Mt. Holly.
So now instead of getting to grounds at 8 am, with these new changes we will have to be there at 7 am.
I guarantee that trying to fake one of those hard passes will be harder to fake then the daily paper passes.

Plus what about the people who do week work out there?
Will we even be able to do our jobs when the film production starts?
Also changing up the workers passes right in the middle of the run of the show is going to be one huge mess.
It will be an interesting time going to work on Saturday morning.

Filming starts 9/15 which is a Monday as renfestbeth said. Second unit filming may not have any "stars" involved. My booth has to fill out a list of who will be working by 9/7. Probably as a image release form although the form didn't indicate that.

Before answering your response, I went to the horse's mouth to get all the correct information...so I would not speak out of turn.

Management told me that hard passes were not taken away - unless there were "problem children" employees. If your "hard pass" was taken from you there would have been a reason from the fstival end, and not due to the production. Furthermore, MRF does NOT expect to be taking away the hard passes already issued to employees - what would be the point? Issuing a day pass would create more work and multiple headaches with people losing them all of the time.

Also, the bus issue will happen the last three weekends of the festival. Will it be inconvenient? Yes. It is a necessity, sadly, due to the requirements of filming a large production. As for getting to your parking area at Mt Holly by seven...that will do you no good. The bus contract has the shuttle buses arriving at 8. Maybe a bit earlier...but not as early as 7am.

For the folks who work all week thru (M-F)...yes, you will be able to do your jobs. The production company is working with certain vendors they have identified who's shops they would like to use, in order to make everything run smoothly for both sides. MRF management is working closely with the production crew to assure all bases are covered.

I would suggest you stop raising red flags. Rumor mills are a waste of time and effort.
