Not so bad until the escape... (spoiler)

Not a great movie, but watchable and untertaining until the 'hero' escape... and come to the vilain's lair alone, without a plan or a weapon...

Well, you can do better when you're a trained soldier, or an average humain being with half a brain... (pun intended)

... The end is quite stupid and predictable from this point.

Vilain got Matsterplan (TM).
Vilain tells MasterPlan (TM) while posing and dancing. (quite funny, actually)
Vilain tries to kill the hero with a complicated method for no particular reason.
Then vilain fails stupidly.

Happy ending.

(Audience violently vomiting)

The last part is a waste of an interesting idea and development. Too bad.

I don't know if it's because I'm on acid but I just laughed my head off at your description there

Brian Taylor just did an interview for How Did This Get Made? And says he wishes it was more coherent, because Neveldine and he had great ideas, but they were drunk all day, every day at the time and never even played first person shooters or had an understanding of online gaming culture when they made this.

It's actually really cool how down to earth and honest he is with their shortcomings, and has an interesting bit about how they beta tester the first RED cameras and that this was the first movies filmed in it and how they had to defend it vs. film to Lions Gate/Lakeshore.
