Well this was surprisingly good.

This isn't my type of show. I thought this was gonna be a Glee thing. But this has really sharp writing and great performances. Well developed characters right in the pilot. And holy cow that house boat is something else. Not too much singing. And the snarky asshole lead is a delight. Feel good without too much schmaltz.

I think so, too. It's almost an exact copy of another show I liked that was cancelled quickly, Go On. That show is very much the foundation for this show, but with singing, which is probably why I like it. I honestly never saw Bradley Whitford making a come-back; always thought he was gonna be that Billy Madison villain forever. But he kinda got hot in older age. Enjoying it so far.

Btw, houseboats creep me out, but this one didn't.

Ha. That is him, isn't it. I mostly know him from the West Wing. Go On was the Mathew Perry show, right? Yeah, they are pretty similar.

Been meaning to check out the West Wing for a long time, but it's been so long, I'm worried it'll be dated. Does it hold up?

Yes, it is the Matthew Perry show.

lol very dated. you either like that kind of thing or you don't. it's like a show imagined about a better world.

reply

I'll still probably check it out. Maybe I'll like it more now - who doesn't want to escape to a better world?

The Tandy man can

3 episodes in and it’s still good. They lean into the silliness sometimes.

I really found the 2nd ep to be very charming. It's a little cheesy, but it's a good kind of cheesy.

reply

Yeah, it is a cute, funny show. Pretty good so far.

reply

I can't figure out if it has been cancelled.

I hop not, it is very good.
