I know the theme is that he is being overprotective because of his loss....
But was he really upset that his 14 year old daughter was riding her bike without telling him exactly what she was doing?
I am so glad I grew up when I did.
When I was fourteen I rode my balloon-tire one-speed bike twenty miles to the beach and twenty miles back home. Before I left my mom just said "be home before dark!" God, I am so, so, so glad I grew up when I did. It makes being old now totally worth it.
