ending (...spoilers)

The series ended - with the 8th episode - very abruptly, like this was only supposed to be the first of more series and episodes.

I tried to find more information about the production 'Secrets' (known in France as ' Suspectes'), but could not find anything that could confirm my thoughts. Does anyone have more info?
