Decent movie
Good performances all round and characters that, while flawed people, I cared about. Nice resolution. Not a must see, but worth watching. Portman is great in this.
shareShe is good here, one of her better performances IMO. Lisa Kudrow was brilliant as well. I almost didn't watch it because it's yet another story in which Bad Things Happen to Women, which I think is a really tired and lazy way to create a plot, but then I saw Kudrow was in it too and thought it might be good despite that. She really chooses her projects for love.
And I'm glad I did watch. Apart from Jack, who isn't very well drawn IMO, the characters are complex and interesting. And I thought the heart of the film, Emilia's relationship with William, was rather brilliant and ultimately very lovely.
