Did anyone on here even watch this?

Based on the posts, it's as if no one watched this, or certain lot didn't pay attention.
"She didn't make jack leave his wife." She said she would get an abortion. He said no.
"She should have been on birth control." She literally said "I'm on birth control I don't know how this happened."
"She's a terrible influence on will." Are we pretending the mother isn't incredibly abusive to this kid? Emilia likes him, she's not a lovey dovey person, but will understands this. They seem to get along well to me. He clearly has loyalty issues that's why he brings up these hurtful things on purpose, to prove to her that he loves his mom, and not emelia.
I really relate to emelia, minus the whole affair part. I just wonder if a rewatch would change some of the opinions on here

She said she would get an abortion. He said no.

And SHE could have told him he's married and HER abortion is NONE of HIS business.

Why on earth does JACK get the final say on HER getting an abortion?

SHE CHOSE to do what HE told her to do. That's on HER.

She should have been on birth control." She literally said "I'm on birth control I don't know how this happened.

The best birth control for a woman interested in a married man is to keep your legs closed. Was she on THAT birth control?

Nope, CLEARLY not.

"She's a terrible influence on will." Are we pretending the mother isn't incredibly abusive to this kid?

The mother may or may not be, but that does NOT invalidate the argument that Amelia's a terrible influence: she's TEACHING the kid to LIE to his MOTHER. That IS a terrible thing to teach a child to do... smarten up.

Emilia likes him, she's not a lovey dovey person, but will understands this. They seem to get along well to me.

That kid does NOT have the full story or have the maturity to UNDERSTAND it yet. His liking Emelia AGAIN does not in any way exonerate Amelia's bad behavior: hell a serial killer can pick a loyal dog up from the pound, that does NOT make the serial killer any better of a person. Again smarten up.

I really relate to emelia, minus the whole affair part. I just wonder if a rewatch would change some of the opinions on here

Emelia's bad behavior is not limited to her promiscuous behavior, she's meddlesome, dishonest, and callous beyond belief.

She was inconsiderate to CONSIDER involving herself with Jack, she was inconsiderate in GETTING involved with him, and CONTINUED to be inconsiderate in how she interacted with Will and Carolyn AFTER the promiscuous behavior ended. She's just all around callous from beginning to end.

Oh right I forgot that Emelia was meant to be the perfect person. I'm pretty sure the big point in the film is that she accepts her baby's death and learns more valuable lessons in life - how to move on, for example.
It's a movie. It'a very realistic l to the issues addressed
