Wan't this Teddy Atlas-guy a big part of Tysons career aswell?

Boxing history is not a subject I knw well, but a mate of mine started alking about this guy, apparently he was a assistant coach or something like that

Teddy was really tyson's main trainer, and many feel he was the real person behind Mike's early success. (Not taking anything away from Cus, though.) I was Teddy who went with Mike to all the major amateur competitions, and worked his corner, while Cus stayed home.

Later in his career, Mike & Teddy had some kind of major falling out, probably due to the intense BS being whispered in his ear by Don King. It's really sad that in this movie, Mike, seemingly older and wiser, did not give Teddy the respect & credit he deserves.

Mike tried to Rape Teddy's cousin or little sister and Teddy threatened Mikes life with a gun if he ever hurt anyone in Teddy's family again. He felt Cus was too soft on Mike and let him get away with his bad behavior.

Atlas was only around for his amateur career, Tyson *beep* around with a female relative of Teddys.

Kevin Rooney is the one that kept Tyson in peak fighting condition, Don King made Tyson fire Rooney.
The first Bruno fight showed that Tyson wasnt going to be fighting the same ever again. Mike was moving his head less, throwing less and less combinations and seemingly looking for a one punch knockout.

This. Rooney along with Jim Jacobs and bill cayton were the last shred of influence from D'amato's gym. Once Rooney was stupidly fired and Jacobs and cayton were outta the picture, King swooped in like a vampire and started sucking the life out of Tyson. Atlas was Tyson's early amateur trainer. Atlas still holds a grudge against Tyson by pretty much running him down and calling him a weak man any chance he gets. I respect Atlas but he's kinda screwy in the head too. From what I heard anyways.
