Entrance when fighting Spinks

Does anyone know if that's what was really playing
as he made his entrance? That 'heavy metal sound'
as the commentator referred to it. Or is this to
over-dub his real song for the dvd? And if its a buildup to a song
what song is it?
It was pretty intimidating. Thanks

That was the actual sound played when he entered the ring and you're right it was riveting - ESPN Classic shows the fight from time to time.

I don't think he used it again though. I'm pretty sure after that fight Tyson's entrance music was "Welcome to the Terrordome" by Public Enemy.

Wow! That's a crazy ambiance to set coming down to the ring. A spine tingling, tension builder for at the time was the baddest man on the planet. If I was his opponent standing in the ring waiting for him to get there I would feel like I was already in a fight to keep my mental game stable. That's insane. Thanks for answering that for me.

No, Spinks entered the ring first.

The champion always enters second, and is introduced second.

reply

You're right. The champion does enter second. Tyson did actually enter second. However, people seem to forget that they were both the heavy weight champion and just had different belts. Tyson was on his mission to unify the title.

reply

No, Tyson had already unified the three titles by this point.

Spinks was only a "recognized" champion, as he had given up his belt. But since he was still undefeated, he was viewed as a champion.

reply

You might be thinking about the Holmes fight.

Tyson got mad because Holmes entered the ring late and made him wait in his dressing room.

I've heard it was Coil-Time Machines

I saw this fight on ESPN classics and that was the exact song he used. it was scary as hell but he didn't need it because I have never in my life seen a more scared boxer than Spinks in that fight. I wish they had showed Spink's ring entrance. he looked terrified.
