Hated the style of the film

I am a huge Tyson fan but reserve judgement on the rape thing. Love the man as an athlete, don't know him as a person (but don't think it looks good). I was so excited to see this film but was exceedingly frustrated by the picture in picture thing and absolutely despised the audio overlapping thing. Seemed like he was talking over himself and distracted from the overall experience. It felt like the pretentious work of a film student who thinks he's hot stuff. Absolutely a waste of excellent subject matter.

I actually had a random meeting with Mike Tyson at a super market in Henderson, NV. It was on Christmas day and I noticed my father (a man of advanced years high five a very large man and say "hey champ!". Tyson high fived my dad and I came up offering my hand. He shook it and was very humble. I also said "it's an honor to meet you" (something I've only said to Johnny Tapia when I had the rare gift of meeting him). I wonder if Tyson was thinking "what does this tiny white woman know about me?" But perhaps he is used to being admired by people of all shapes and sizes. Anyway, being a huge boxing fan, I was actually choked up meeting one of my all-time favorite fighters and in my flustered state I said "merry Christmas" as I walked away. Totally forgot he was a Muslim. Then I felt like an idiot. Oh well, it was still cool and the film still suffers from crap direction. That's my two cents.

I totally agree - the sequences where he was talking about that story of the girl at the party, and what he wants in a woman... pure cringe. The way those "artistic" segments were edited was horrendous.
