Morris Kravan...Dorian's uncle (Sarandon's brother). It's a great script, a very good story. Should be a fun film.

Went for an audition yesterday. Two roles (Judge, Morris). People doing the casting were very polite and took time to explain what they were looking for in each character. Hoping for a callback!

That's cool! Good luck everyone! But does anyone know when they are going to start production? And where is it being filmed? Thanks.

No clue, I'm asuming it's in baton rouge since thats where auditions have been. I went to my call back, and now I guess I'm playing the waiting game. Any one hear back a second time?

I noticed that for a lot of these auditions you almost seem to have to know somebody in casting to even get an audition. If you go through on IMDB, you will see a lot of the same names of actors pop up on movie after movie, i.e. you will see a pattern. And, a lot of times these things are pre-cast out of L.A. before it even comes here and the only thing left is the one-liners. Same goes for crew. The same group seems to work from movie to movie. I have also noticed that in some cases, I guess working for casting helps because I will notice a casting department employee doubling up cast as a speaking part in addition to those coveted stand-in/photo double/body double roles. Finally, I find amazing is the family members/family connections, i.e. the stunt coordinator is related to the set medic, or so-and-so might be one of the principals and their child is cast in a supporting.

It's that way with every job in the world just so you know, not just acting gigs. Try getting a job at the postal service or on the police force. For that matter, check out the local grocery store or the local bar. Casting people work in casting to learn the business as do stand ins so they are paying their dues and learning the business and craft. The reason the main roles are cast out of LA is because that's where the actors are. Louisiana is a great place to make a film because of the tax incentives and locations. Not the actors. Thats not to say there are no actors in Louisiana, there are. If you want the best, you go where the best are, plain and simple. The pattern you speak of is life in general Tunica.

Okay, so I am a 15-year-old male. I don't plan on being in this movie or anything (I live in Texas); however, I do want to be an actor as I get older. So I was wonder, what is the proper way of doing that?

I think I need an agent. And the agent gets me into stuff. And I know auditions are held for various things in Austin, but I have no way of getting in them and evedently people here seem to know what to do. So, any information or pointers would be much appreciated!

Thanks.
