Saw it for the 2nd time yesterday...

And its incredible how this movie is pretty much nonexistent.
No talks about it, no one knows what it is, it has no poster on imdb, only 4 reviews, its a shame. Its a great little movie, much better then extremely talked about but shi_tty blockbusters like star trek, district 9 and transformers.

where did you see it?

Where did you see it? I can't find any information about how to see it. It's not available on netflix and I can't find much about it online.

Actually it is out on DVD in Germany for almost a year now...and yes, it is a great film.

It's absurd to compare Middle Of Nowhere to movies like Star Trek and District 9 when it's not that type of movie. Both of the aforementioned are great, great films in different ways; Star Trek is a brilliant reboot that has managed to make a nerds-only franchise palatable to everyone without dumbing it down, and District 9 is a terrific film that couches political allegory in science fiction.

Middle Of Nowhere is more comparable to films like... y'know, Adventureland. Charlie Bartlett (which had Anton, by the way). Fierce People (which also had Anton). The Wackness. I love all of the aforementioned films; I hesitate to say this film is better than The Wackness or Adventureland, but it's certainly on the same level as them, and it's definitely better than Charlie Bartlett and Fierce People. I agree that this is a gem of a film, and that it really should have been released and would have found an audience, but false comparisons don't do much to prove that point.

You make a good point. But it does not even seem to have the visibility of your average *beep* indie film. A more truly well hidden gem I have never seen.
