From BJ to kiss?

Why did they change the dialogue from Beth fellating the convenience store guy to kissing him? I'm guessing they thought it went against Hayden's "girl next door" image and was too offensive. The big problem is that in the subsequent scenes the characters then seem to be overreacting to a kiss.

WOW! Hayden's a slut. Lucky convenience guy.

So....originally the dialogue was...."I'll suck your D!CK off!"???? That's pretty raunchy...by any teen movie standards.

reply

Yeah, it says in the trivia section here, that when she got in the car afterward, she really said, "I sucked his diznick for like, two seconds!"

what a slut

I'm pretty sure this was done to obtain it's PG-13 rating.

This was also mentioned in the commentary for 500 days of summer, you can either have someone say the F word or mention the word blow job or even refer to it like that, without getting a R rating. Another reason why the MPAA is so silly.

LOL. Now the scene makes a lot more sense. The reaction didn't seem to fit with the theatrical version.

Now go home and get yer fuccin' shinebox.

Why didn't they put that scene with the original dialogue on the deleted scenes on the DVD release?
