30 Years Ago Today

I graduated from high school on Saturday, June 7, 1986, and today is the 30th anniversary of that. See my other thread on this board, "Saturday, June 7, 1986" for the details of it, written exactly two years ago today, as I don't really want to write all that over again, but today is the 30th anniversary of it, which I have been thinking about and looking foward to for months. My class' bacaularette was on Sunday night, June 1, 1986, at 8:00 p.m. in the school gym, with a reception following in the school lobby/cafeteria, which I thought was a very good experience. And the graduation rehearsal was on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 4, 1986, which the graduates were required to attend if they wanted to graduate in their place in line the following Saturday (ones that didn't would be placed at the back of the line with the ones recieving certificates). Almost all of the graduates attended that, including me, though my grandmother took me to it, as I could not yet drive. The first rehearsal was in the school gym, which had to be done in case of rain on Saturday, and then everyone went out to the stadium for another rehearsal, because our class had voted overwhelmingly earlier that year to hold the graduation outside in the stadium weather permitting. Ours was the first class to have it outside, all previous ones had been held in the gym. But the weather was very hot and sunny that day and it was held outside, and was a very good experience. And I remember it very vividly and it doesn't really seem like it has been thirty years. I have also been recieving alot of emails from classmates.com the past couple of weeks because of this, though I made no contact with them, so they must be aware of this anniversary and want to help me observe it.
