can you recommend any similar films?

Really loved this movie, it was almost exactly what I was looking for. I'm a huge fan of classic Chinese wuxia kung fu films, classic Japanese chanbara (samurai action) films, and classic spaghetti westerns. Seeing all of them into one film is like a dream. Well, almost a dream. It wasn't a 100% perfect meshing of these genres but I still loved the Warrior's Way.

Anyway, I'm looking for any similar films that have that "eastern meets western" sort of vibe. I'VE ALREADY SEEN:

THE STRANGER AND THE GUNFIGHTER
SUKIYAKI WESTERN DJANGO
RED SUN (MAGNIFICENT THREE)

and I've heard about MY NAME IS SHANGHAI JOE. Is that any good?

I liked those movies but they weren't nearly as awesome as The Warrior's Way. Can you recommend any similar films (but closer to Warrior's Way)?

Aside from the whole "eastern meets western" thing, I'm also looking for films with similarly awesome samurai (or spaghetti western) action. Loved the fight scenes. Want more. By the way, would the recommend Bunraku? looks interesting. or terrible. not sure haha.

On a slightly unrelated topic, I also wanted to ask about the Warrior's ethnicity. Was he Japanese or Chinese? I automatically assumed he was Japanese at first because well, he looked like a samurai (samurai are Japanese... haha). But from studying the way he fights with his sword, he doesn't seem to fight with traditional kendo or kenjustsu. It looks more like a Chinese style of sword fighting. Also, there's one line where someone calls him a *beep* which if I'm not mistaken is a racial slur specifically against Chinese people. Anyway, any thoughts on this? By the way, I know that the actor is Korean, but I don't think that matters haha.

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance, I'd appreciate any help.

For Eastern meets Western suggestions, check out ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA AND AMERICA, in which Jet Li brings kung-fu to 19-century Texas as Wong Fei Hung--this flick was said to be the inspiration for Jackie Chan's SHANGHAI NOON (even though Jackie has maintained that Hung stole the idea from him first). It's weird, disjointed and fun, even though it was clearly made by someone who had a weird idea of what the West was like. For samurai suggestions, all I could think are these 1960's old-school classics:

SWORD OF DOOM---about a vicious psychopathic samurai who completely loses it
SAMURAI REBELLION
THREE OUTLAW SAMURAI
The SLEEPY EYES OF DEATH series

I'm not sure---I just assumed the warrior was Japanese, due to their costumes in the opening scene, but I'm not sure---he himself never specified what Asian country he was from, for whatever the reason. I couldn't figure it out either, even though practically everything about the villain's mode of dress came off very much in the Japanese style to me. Maybe some other poster could help answer that, because I'm not sure myself, anyway.

I saw the first Once Upon A Time in China and i didn't like it that much but I thought it was pretty good. The one you mentioned looks interesting. I do love Sammo Hung's choreography. But not his directing. haha

I've already seen Sword of Doom and Three Outlaw Samurai but haven't seen the other two. I'll check them out, thanks.
