I Really Wonder...

The people who say this is awful... are they only saying it since it was not a blockbuster smash hit? It's like people say ET was the worst video game ever made since it became "cool" to say that. I grew up with an Atari and have actually played it. Trust me, there are worse games.

Anyway, I seriously think SOME people who say this is awful have not even seen it, maybe a scene or two on TV or a glimpse if a friend is watching it.

I love this movie and have seen it numerous times. It's not a "cowboys vs ninjas" thing that people keep saying it is. The outlaws were looking for one person and the ninjas were looking for another and they were just in the same town.

Anyway; the movie was great, the acting was great (except Boswell, she could do better), and the swordplay was amazing!

For me, The Warrior's Way is a good movie. It's enjoyable entertainment. However, I would not say it is a great movie. I don't think it compares to a great movie like for instance "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

In your original review, you say "This is the first (and only, I think) film to be a Martial Arts and Western combination!" I'm sorry to inform you, but it isn't even close.

There is the 1972 TV movie and subsequent TV series "Kung Fu" starring David Carradine. It takes place in the 1870's and is about a Shaolin monk in China who kills the Emperor's nephew to avenge the killing of his beloved Master Po. The Emperor places a $10,000 bounty on his head, so he escapes to the American West to avoid bounty hunters. You can view on IMDB at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068823/

Another movie was "Blood Money" (1974) starring Lee Van Cleef. Released in America as "The Stranger and the Gunfighter." You can view on IMDB at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071784/

Finally, another example is "Shanghai Noon" (2000) starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. You can view on IMDB at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0184894/
