Upcoming Festival Screenings

(from the official website)

The Butterfly Tattoo is going to premiere!
The Butterfly Tattoo will have its world premiere on the international Film by the Sea festival in Vlissingen, Holland. This will be on the 13th of September, the first evening open to the general public. After this there will be two more viewings at the FbtS festival.

The Butterfly Tattoo will open in the Big Theatre in the presence of, amongst others, director Phil Hawkins and the lead actors. Impressive films like Babel, Das Leben der Anderen and Chocolat preceded TBT at earlier editions of the Film by the Sea festival. More information about the viewings can be found following the link.

But there is more: at least three other prestigious (inter)national festivals will show The Butterfly Tattoo! After Film By The Sea we shall screen at the Dutch Film Festival at the end of September. At the same time there will be two international festivals in New York where people can see TBT, including the opening feature of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.

Next to the festivals there is more positive attention for The Butterfly Tattoo. There will be a full chapter dedicated to our film in a Swedish study book for high school students (accompanied by a DVD with clips from the film). The book is meant to teach children English. The manner in which the clips are integrated in the teaching method is original; different assignments are linked with the producing of the film. For example: the children will have to write a letter to Dynamic Entertainment to apply for a role as an extra in the film. This book will be published by the largest teaching material publisher in Sweden: Studentlitteratur.

In England the joint-venture of the companies Ymogen and Libra Television will, in cooperation with the BBC, use the film for lessons about Shakespeare. Our director Phil Hawkins will also play a big part in this educational programme that is called The Big Shakespeare Mash Up. For more information go to: http://shmash.demo.ymogen.net/ .

Finally the Dutch publisher Prometheus made the Dutch translation of the book now available in Holland. And not only that; it’s a film edition!

So it’s going well with The Butterfly Tattoo! Exiting times are starting with a whirlwind of activities!

Soon there will be more information about the premiere and possibly other festivals where we are invited. For all who are interested there is of course the possibility to see the film; as well for the premiere as for the other two showings during the Film by the Sea festival there will be tickets for sale. For the Dutch Film Festival and the festivals in New York there will also be tickets available.
