I thought the "user comment" was a real comment from one of us, now I have the movie I realized the poster only commented on one movie (this one) and I dont trust ppl who register just to comment on one measly film. Probably affiliated w/ the movie. It doesnt look very interesting so i dont feel like sitting thru it till a real member gives us reviews & says it good, not just watchable.

No, it's very predictable: half-based on Romeo and Juliet and half on every 'B' movie you've ever seen. I'm not good at guessing the endings of movies but this one was so thoroughly flagged it was impossible to miss. The lead actors are OK, given their lack of experience, but many of the supporting actors are embarrassingly bad. There are massive plot holes too. It is definitely not worth watching or even renting.
shareHello. I don't usually write on the message boards but I thought I should for this movie as I throughly enjoyed it and it's interesting that you have such an opposite opinion. Yes, there are moments that are a little corny in the film, but I took that to highlight the naivety of first love. We all have corny moments in our lives, don't we?
Secondly, you say it's very predictable. Isn't that the point? The first bit of the film tells us what is going to happen! The same with Shakespeare's play - we know everything that happens from the first monologue... but the film is about how it happens rather than some sort of big revelation! I thought it was quite tense in places because I knew it was going to end badly but I didn't know when or where? I wanted to see the film as I like Pullman's books but I haven't read this one. I heard this film won a lot of awards at festivals so I was curious and I definitely enjoyed it. I thought all the actors were quite good!
