question

I've seen trailers and posters for this film in several places, sometimes the title is Lynch one, and sometimes it's Lynch 2. Is it a different documentary altogether that will be appearing on the inland empire dvd later this month? Is this a two parter?

From my understanding Lynch 2 is a 30 minute segment from the full "Lynch" documentary.

Actually that is incorrect, Laxmaster. You are correct that Lynch 2 is 30 minutes long, but it is not segments from the full "Lynch" documentary. They both are footage filmed by blackANDwhite and his team, but there is no overlapping footage. Each one has it's own unique footage.

This documentary was initially called Lynch (one), and Lynch 2 is just a more abstract set of footage. In Lynch 2, there is no talk of Philadelphia, or where Lynch grew up or any of that. It also doesn't reference Inland Empire so much. It's just Lynch making some stuff and swearing a lot. There are some great gems in Lynch 2... I almost like it better than Lynch (one) because of the lack of storytelling.

We showed Lynch 2 at the Seattle Art Museum last year, so it's been shown in at least one theater, but it also appears on the second disc of the 2-disc Inland Empire DVD set.
