Pete Best?

Where was Pete Best in this movie?

When Fish was fired from Zammits Metal Racking, Pete was the guy on the bus bench next to him. Most of the scene was cut in the movie, Pete actually had a dialogue with Fish. You can see it on the DVD in deleted scenes.

Thanks. I saw it on cable and wondered where he was too.

How funny is that? I wonder how many IMDB'ers don't know Pete Best was the Beatles drummer before Ringo.

Boston, you are the only only only.

On the DVD, there is a pretty good interview with Pete Best done by Rainn Wilson.

And they did reference the Beatles in this movie on at least 3 occasions. Gonna have to get the DVD to see more of Pete Best.

Do you look at a menu and say OK?

reply

I met Pete at a book signing years ago. He was promoting his book about his time with the Beatles before he was booted.
Very nice guy...and his book was great. You would think it would have been an exercise in self-pity, but it wasn't at all. Just a first-person account.

My DVD doesn't have the extras, even though I only bought it because it said that it did.

Is there any way of seeing the extra material with Best in it?

reply

Yes, I do not deny that Pete Best's experience inspired this film but that's sort of like me saying that George Harrison's interest in Bangladesh was my inspiration for painting my mailbox.

reply

Yes, Pete Best was fired just before the Beatles took off like a comet..You gotta feel sorry for that guy....

I was waiting for a Ron McGovney cameo

(he was Metallica's first bassist, who left the band just before they hit it big)
