French mental hospitals

What on earth happened to Sabine in the psychiatric hospital? It sounds like a real chamber of horrors.

The contrast between Sabine before and after her stay at the hospital deserves a criminal investigation. How sad that someone as high-functioning as Sabine ended up in this state.

Did anyone else question the massive medication all the patients seem to be on? Is this normal? It seems as if at least some of Sabine's medical problems may be a result of her high levels of medication. Then again, I'm not a doctor.

i have aspergers syndrome,PTSD, depression, and other situations. in the midwest, where i live, there are no psych hospitals now, only a 'locked ward' in a hosptal i a city 30 miles away. and ive been warned never to go there, by LPNs who help me, because those who run the ward dont do therapy to help you through crisis, but rather change all your current meds and drug you out of your mind, into helplessness, a state that they then can point to and say that you cant possibly be released. im on 6 meds daily, with another for emergencies. so i can relate to this poor girl's situation. i had two autistic children in the daycare my mom and i ran, years ago, and after i came out here for college, my parents closed my daycare, and the parents of my poor little ones put them in institutions. last i heard, my little boy had become violent and his parents abandoned him to the system...my poor little boy.

Yeah wtf. The before and after contrast of Sabine was very depressing... (granted, some of it had to do with her meltdown after her brother died and they moved farther out...but still)
