Bleeping the "N" word...
I don't care either way, but on the repeats of All in the Family and The Jeffersons they don't bleep the word. That was in the 70's. Do you think they should have or shouldn't have bleeped the word?

shareNo not "negro" but worse. George says it once in tonight's show and then Helen uses it later. It wasn't even a white person saying it and they still bleeped it. Back in the 70's there were several times that word was used on All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Good Times and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman(all Norman Lear shows).
shareDon't remember a white person using it in any Norman Lear show but a white Samantha called Nell the n word in "Gimme a Break".
shareOn Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman a white supremacist group came into Fernwood and the two leaders used the "N" word many times. I don't remember it happening on any other Norman Lear show though. Just that one.
shareOn an episode of All in the Family George says it and Archie says he hasn't used that word in over a year. By the way it became clear when they reaired the show tonight that they bleeped Helen too long the first time it aired and Tom was cut off making it sound like he said it never crossed his mind to use it.
shareYes, that was at Jenny and Lionel's engagement party. I watched it again recently on Youtube and the "N" word wasn't bleeped. That episode should have been the one they chose instead of Henry's goodbye party. The engagement party episode was very funny; one of the best.
Yeah, it would have been a better choice.
