The cop *SPOILER*

First I want to say, I LOVE this movie. This movie just goes to show us that you don't need a big budget, famous faces, and a ton of CGI to make a great horror movie. Hollyweird (Hollywood) could learn A LOT from this movie.

The only thing that bugged me was the cop. I know why the cop was killed. She was TOO STUPID TO LIVE. How much of a moron do you have to be to NOT listen to the people in the store telling you there is something outside and she needs to get back in her car?

Seriously, did she NOT see the blood covering the windows out there? There was blood all over the place! I was glad she got nailed because she was an idiot from start to finish.

Other than that little thing, I loved this movie. I only wish Hollywood would take the hint and go back to the good old days. The days before these big producers and directors depended on CGI to make their movies. Sometimes less is more, and Splinter proves that in a bunch of different ways.

I get your point but she just walked into a hostage situation and was trying to deal with things by the book.

reply

The cop was completely believable; she wasn't dumb at all.

reply

Well she knew 2 of them were on the run. There was only 1 of them in the station with the "hostages" telling her there was something outside. At the very least she should have been on the lookout for someone outside.

reply

The blood on the window? I thought that was hers. Before her there wasnt much on that window-I think.

your thoughts?

reply

There was the blood from the infected girlfriend when she was trying to break into the shop

reply

When that thing attacks the cop from above i was disappointed in the cops reaction. I mean she had a gun, but all she did was scream.
I mean she turns up, sees a hostage situation, she is jumped from behind, and all she does is scream with her eyes closed, and that is while the creature is grabbing her and before it hurts her.

These are my thoughts. There are many others like them, but these ones are mine.

The cop was not dumb she was freakin Sherlock Holmes how the hell did she know where they were?

Robber dude was heading North but all the cops thought he was going to Mexico?

And why would she stop at a random gas station it's clear that she only notices all the blood until she's right up close to it so upon driving passed everything appears fine?

Dumb cop? Hell no. She was a psychic super blind cop

She was only there to advance the plot yet how she got to be there was totaly pants and required just a little more thought

She was going in for her morning coffee and accidentaly saw a wanted fugitive. even if cops though he was going to Mexico his face would be plastered through all channels.

Totally agree.
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

"This isn't TV, it's real life. Can't you tell the difference?"
"Sure - I just like TV better."

reply

A few other points. Cops *never* leave their cruiser without calling it in, never, especially when they suspect some kind of situation. In this circumstance, she should have lie low, calling in for backup. The fact that she was 'cherries and berries' show that she knew there was something going on. The alternate fact that she took her keys with her and the shotgun was unlocked demonstrate that she was not well trained or going for some glory.

reply

Her death was pretty darn brutal and the only death that really got under my skin (no pun intended). Glad that Seth and Polly lived. Lacey got what she deserved, and Farrell's fate was the least he could do after his early shenanigans!

reply

Police in horror movies are generally just fodder. You know they're going to die as soon as they show up on screen. And they never call for back-up lol as if

reply

Yeah, she would defo have called for back up in real life.
