Corey Feldman to Return for "Lost Boys 3"

Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Evan Charnov (Fearless) has been hired by Warner Premiere to write the third installment in "The Lost Boys" franchise. The new film will obviously go straight to DVD, just like the incredibly successful sequel did last year.

Corey Feldman will return to produce "The Lost Boys 3" in addition to reprising his role as vampire hunter Edgar Frog. Moviehole has added that Jamison Newlander will also return as Alan Frog in the threequel that will focus on the Frog brothers.

Newlander appeared in the 1987 original, directed by Joel Schumacher, but was edited out of the sequel. And even though the second movie hinted at a possible battle between Edgar Frog and Sam Emerson (Corey Haim), Haim isn't expected to return for "Lost Boys 3."

True, and that is a shame, but I'm glad they've got the Frog Bros together again. I'm hoping for more funky viral marketing.

Thanks for the heads up on the story dude.

To be honest, I would be a little more hyped if it didn't say this on the article at shocktillyoudrop.com -

"Lost Boys 3 on the Rise at Warner Premiere"

Warner Premiere = definate direct-to-dvd release...

Low budget, poor director, poor composer, poor cinematography, poor costume designer. Again the only good thing is Feldog and Newlander, but without the proper backing there is no real saving grace.

Sorry to say that this reeks of another disappointing dose of Lost Boys: The Tribe. If so, I won't even have a sniff at this one, and neither will the REAL fans of the original. At the end of the day they've been looking at the cash intake and not the post-release criticism that came from the fans.

GET IT TOGETHER WB

Aren't Feldman and Newlander getting a little too old to be running around in Army gear hunting teenage vampires? It seems to me that Haim is the smart one.

reply

exactly if it's not being done right then don't do it if feldman and newlander refuse to do it because it is a cheap half assed version.
with no haim, felman, newlander there would be no movie but aslong as feldman says ok they will keep churning this kack out!!!

I hold some hope. Threequels are generally the better sequels. I'm awaiting who they get to direct. I don't mind that its direct-to-dvd, there have been some good direct-to-dvd releases over the years. And I kind of enjoyed LBT, but it did have a tonne of flaws. So I'm gonna wait and see.

Haim most defintely needs to be brought on board and they need to do the sequel the right way. The setup at the end of tribe is intriguing but i'm not going to be happy at all with another lame attempt to redo this series.

Haim was at an expo a few days ago, and during an interview he was asked about LB3, and he said he had no clue if it was happening. So, I think its safe to say Haim won't be in it. I'm gaining much more respect for him for choosing not to participate in these garbage sequels.
