Was the first one this gory...?

Or am I remembering it wrong. Because I found this one to be way too gory and disgusting. When a movie has this much gore, it often comes accross as cheap.

You are remembering right, the first one was NOT as gory, there is no need for so much gore.

first one had a lower budget then this one. plus the only gore scene was the punks at the campfire they stumped out. its what made alot of the movies in the 80s great, was there low budget and having to adapt and over come it.

I hate the recent trend in movies to not only have lots of blood, but to have it burst out as if it was under intense pressure. The human body is not a shaken-up pop can!!

First one was nowhere near as gory as this. Second one is more deserving of an R rating than the first one ever was.

The first one wasn't nearly as gory, this one just had gratuitous blood and gore, I suppose for the youngun's who must have sex and/or violence every five minutes in order for them to enjoy a movie.
