The script for Brandon A. Tobatto's 'Lost Boys: Ascension' has been completed and is currently being registered with the WGAW. The story hopes to bring elements back from the original film that has been absent, and heavily missed, in the two sequels that have been made since. This film will serve as a 4th entry and as a true sequel to Lost Boys II and III but will continue the franchise as if the sequels had been made in the same stylish and charming fashion as the original. The script is currently being prepared for presentation to Warner Bros. Premiere and will soon be sent to cast members of LB I and III in order to hopefully garner excitement and gain support from those who would be starring in said project. Tobatto is also making it a point to, hopefully, contact Joel Schumacher in attempts to get him on board with the project and help move things along with Warner Bros., whether he would be serving as director or producer is still up in the air at this point. Tobatto hopes to pitch this film to WB sometime before FALL 2012 in order to begin shooting in late fall of the same year, and hopes to serve as both writer AND director on the LB IV project. IF this project gets moving, it will BE the sequel to Lost Boys that everyone has been wanting to see since 1987, and will also count for the events of the two less impressive sequels. Below is the synopsis for the film.

SYNOPSIS:
'After receiving a disturbing phone call from Laddie claiming that a clan of werewolves have taken up residence in their hometown, the Frog Brothers must return to Santa Carla. Their partner Zoe, who has recently revealed her Wolven authenticity to Edgar and Allen, journey with them to aid in the looming situation. Upon returning to Santa Carla, they realize the situation is much more complicated than they could had ever expected. Laddie has called a meeting at the Emerson residence, where Edgar must face up to the likes of Michael, Star, and Lucy, and resolve the issues left unsolved for so many years, which included apologize face to face with the Emerson clan for the death of Sam. What's worse is the fact that the Werewolf Clan may in fact be the notorious surf gang, the 'Surf Nazis', as explored in the original film and the comic book series 'Reign of Frogs', who have taken up residence at the abandoned hotel where their vampiric opposites once dwelled. But lurking deep within the dangerous and escelating situation, lies a darker, much more compicated problem'

Sounds decent, but will it feature any vampires or vampire slaying, I mean I can changing the antagonist to werewolves, changing it up a bit may garner more interest, but we need classic bad ass vampires, ever since Twilight both vampires and werewolves have become wussy ass male models. Also, I would love to see Joel Schumacher return as Director, but he has been wanting a Lost Girls film and don't think he'll be on board if it isn't, the most I think we can hope for is he is a producer or consultant. Kudos to you for actually keeping the sequel in continuity, writers nowadays always write off the less popular sequels so they don't have to deal with them(like Halloween H20)& all that shows is lazy writing, so its nice to see someone actually trying to make the bad work for them
