this was actually pretty good

I didn't think much of this movie based on the commercials. I didn't really know what it was about, but I'm addicted to Lifetime movies so I watched. This movie was surprisingly good and I recommend you watch it next time it airs. The plot is solid, there are good twists, the acting is good, it keeps you guessing and makes you think. I'd say this is one of the better Lifetime movies.

I have nothing against Canadian movies--they are well done. But why do they have to pretend that they're in the U.S.? I always detect the Canadian accent, and the sets and costumes just don't look like they're in America. There's always something about them that just doesn't look convincing. Why don't they set the stories in Canada?

It's probably not their choice. The producer or distributer or someone must make them do it so it has "wider appeal". I find it rather insulting that they think Americans won't be interested just because the story takes place in Canada. The show Falcon Beach originally airs in Canada and is reaired here on ABC Family. Apparently some scenes are shot twice to give the impression it takes place in New Hampshire or something when it's so obvious it doesn't. What a waste of time and how insulting to the audience!

I have to admit though, I didn't notice it during this movie. Haha, but I did wonder in what city they have a water slide at the public pool. :)

I understand exactly what you are saying, but I suppose it goes both ways. I always hate it when American movies imitate other countries unrealistically, and yes, I'm American.
