Outer Banks

This show is dope as fuck. This season was edge-of-your-seat great. Sometimes it was a little too much, not in a bad way, just that the tension was sometimes insane. Every time the crew gets close to accomplishing their goal, something goes completely wrong, and you think to yourself: How the fuck are they going to get out of this one? But then they somehow do.

The show has a kind of 80's/90's feel to it. If you like coming of age stories about a group of teenage treasure hunters from the wrong side of the tracks, then I highly recommend this series.

The ending to this season felt like a series finale, but it left the door open to a fourth season.
I love this show, and I really hoped that there would be a fourth season, and to my pleasant surprise — according to Wikipedia — it was renewed for a fourth!

And lastly, for all the anti-wokies like me, this show is not woke at all. Does it have a diverse cast? Yes, but it does not feel forced, and everyone feels like they belong there. In fact, I would say that the diversity actually works here. There is no sanctimonious lecturing about white privilege, mansplaining, or cultural appropriation, and there were plenty of opportunities where that kind of bullshit could have been shoehorned in, and yet it wasn't. Like I said, this story felt like it was straight out of the 80's/90's, so if you abhor wokeness as much as I do fellow cinetelephiles, fear not, for you won't find much of it here.
