I must say it starts off interesting but has quite a few boring stretches. But stay with it. There is a strange turn of events that occurs in the 3rd stage of the film that should be surprising to anyone who knew nothing about this guy until now.

As for the direction and editing of this film, I think (in my unprofessional opinion) it could have used more work. I'm not a fan of film makers injecting themselves into documentaries as they've done here so extensively. In some investigative style documentaries this works but in this film which is more of a story than a campaign coverage piece, it feels like they are meddling in the story itself and not merely covering it. I suspect it was difficult because even if it started out as a campaign coverage film, due to the course of events, morphed into something more.

I just watched this last night on hulu.com. It was pretty amazing, in my opinion. I really like how it makes you laugh during most of the first act but then slowly gets more and more serious as you realize how delusional Jonathon really is. When they started focusing on his half-sister, Kat, things got incredibly fascinating.

To the director, Tray: congratulations on making a great documentary with limited resources. I will definitely be promoting this film to others and I'll be watching it again soon.
