The Errand of Angels

I was able to watch this movie at the film festival. It was a real story about what missionary work is really like. I think this movie would make a terrific pre-mission movie to prepare missionaries for the experiences they may face out in the field.

Although this movie doesn't depict the most adventurous side of missionary work where tracting is more like a safari hunt. It isn't showing the side of a mission where the missionary is baptizing people left and right and reaping a very successful mission in terms of numbers. Although this movie shows that living conditions may not be up to par with what most are use to, it still doesn't depict someone living in a shack somewhere with mosquito netting. It's not about a missionary being sent home, because it is know longer safe to be a missionary in that country. This movie gives you a slice of something that all missions share and that is the reality that you will have a missionary companion, you will have to look inside yourself for your own true testimony and you will be asked to do things or be in situations that aren't exactly in your comfort level. The challenges that the sister missionary faces int Errand of Angels are things that we all face at one time or another.

The movie was beautiful, it was real, it was funny, it was sorrowful and it was inspiring.
