How would a film like this get financed?

This film had almost no dialogue in it.

The script must have read something like:

Shot of the jungle.

Another shot of the jungle.

Another shot of the jungle.

My question is how would a film like this get financed?

How would you convince investors to invest in your film if the script has almost no dialogue?

I imagine if I handed in a script to a prodution company that only featured a handful of pages, they'd laugh in my face.

It's FILM dude..not radio. Film is imagery, some of the greatest works of art were silent films, and films that tell stories through a stream of images with no words. I thought Vinyan was an extremely powerful and hypnotic experience. Yes it was strange, and not at all typical. Personally i am glad that a few film makers still dare to think outside the box, instead of regurgitating the same formula crap over and over again for the sake of turning a dollar. This film is incredible on so many levels. it's just not for everybody i suppose.

My post wasn't meant as a criticism of the film but as a genuine question.

I am an aspiring film maker and genuinely want to know how a film such as this would get financed.

How does anyone? Telling people what it's about. Do you just not know anyone who thinks bigger than "it's mostly scenery, why would I fund this?"

Even then I think that description isn't that accurate either.

The director made the ordeal before this which was often considered a modern masterpiece. That gives him the right to be trusted with future ideas. Use your common sense. Duh.
