I feel like I must have done something horribly wrong in my past life to have sat through two hours of...nothing.
The only thing excruciating about this film was having to watch it. I have never felt so betrayed in my life.

It was veeeery crap. I seriously can't believe it was ever made. I have no idea why I stuck around watching it either (I was kind of curious to see HOW crap it got I suppose, lol). Wow. Really bad.

Honestly, though, OP is right. The film was a waste of time. You can defend it saying that people just aren't "deep" enough to get it, but it was bad. It was boring. The whole time it was painful seeing how badly the director wanted to make a "different" and "intense" movie, but in the end this is just something a few wannabe film students will call a work of art because it makes them feel unique and special for getting the film when the rest of us are just lowly, everyday movie-goers who only look for the next blockbuster.

shareI think it had such an interesting premise, and I was so looking forwrad to watching it. It started off promising, but as soon as that Asian guy took them to see their son, it went completely downhill. After that point, I just had no idea what was happening anymore. It was like watching someone's nonsensical drug-induced dream.

I had it recorded and it was 1.54 running time with adverts.
I was getting the impression nothing was going to happen about 1.10 but continued.
About 1.31 I couldn't take any more and started 30 second skipping. Missed absolutely nothing and skipped back to see the bloke killed.
Could have skipped the whole thing, still wouldn't have missed anything.
I can only think this was a film student's project, there isn't any other explanation I can think of for it being so bad.
I had to keep checking the EPG description as it was described as a horror, the only thing that frightened me was the woman's top lip.
Atrociuos 'film'.
I think that the film wants to leave the viewer asking themselves plenty of questions. One of the things I'm wondering about is: "Is there any reason for the village children to be all boys?" Where are the girls, what happened to them? Are these children really spirits of those who died all of a sudden?

Personally I consider any work that I don't want to go through again a failure. How much does anyone really care if they are a one-and-doner. Confronting this attiude is one of the banes and making and trying to make others explore.
I watched this movie years ago, and hadn't touched it again until tonight. Where I found it as odd and interesting as I had the first time.

I agree that this is a movie to miss. It was quite good on a technical level (atmosphere, cinematography, sound)but the script failed. The first third of the movie made sense, but then it went downhill.
In movies I like with groups of evil children ("Village of the Damned," "Who Would Kill a Child," for example)there is a reason for the children's behavior. Not here. Why are they killing the male intruders? Why are they only boys? Why are they all wearing funny shorts? Why are they cannibals? Why do they accept the mother?
