This wasn't a dysfunctional family, this was a family that was boring, predictable, and fit only for adults with pre-adolescent minds, as was the entire movie. Nothing about it was funny, interesting, or exciting, just blase. I was able to see this movie for free and I'm glad I did because if I had to pay to see it, I would have asked for twice my money back for wasting 1.5 hours of my time.
shareI agree wholeheartedly. An absolutely dreadful film despite the fine cast. Excruciating to watch. The script had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I'll be avoiding any Elyse Friedman projects in the future, assuming she actually gets the chance to do anything further.

shareThe characters, other than Lauren Graham's, were incredibly unlikable. If you can't like the characters at all and are given no other reason to care about them, then it does not make for a good movie.
shareAgreed, total throw away garbage. It gave me a headache. Ginnifer Goodwin totally miscast, Matthew Perry-horrid as a dramatic actor, that said the screenplay is even worse.
