Why do people have such anger issues over this movie?
Okay, I understand wide ranges of people have different perspectives over the question of God, the afterlife and miracles, however what is up with all the anger from some posters towards this movie?
It's a movie where faith is the central premise. It's also a movie about purpose, in the sense that sometimes we're where we should be for something big to change; hence, Henry moves back to his childhood neighborhood as he's waiting to die. He doesn't know it but he's there to serve a greater purpose that changes his life and the life of those around him.
For me, the big question that begs an answer - If you're a true atheist then why do you even care if someone else wants to believe otherwise? You can go through the days with people wearing their WWJD armbands and be happily content in the knowledge that you're right and they are not. How is their faith in something you know to be silly a threat to you? If you're a true atheist, then Christmas manger scenes in someone's yard doesn't offend you. If you are offended, even enraged by another person's religion, then perhaps you're not an atheist at all, just a God-hater masquerading as an atheist.
I state this because my roommate is an atheist and he said he could care less what someone else believes or professes, it doesn't bother him in the least. This movie doesn't bother him either.
So why does this movie upset some of you, or make you angry? If you don't agree with the concept of the story, then go blissfully on your merry way and get the bee out of your ass about it. Seriously, if you're a true atheist, why do you even care?
