Goof: 'The 'heart' symbol did not have the meaning of love in 1973.'

So all those hearts used in conjuction with Valentine's Day, or the heart symbol first used by the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1969, didn't mean a thing until 1977?

I was doing "I love you" jestures with my sister (point at eye, cover heart, point at her) around 1973. She started college that fall.

I see somebody still cannot accept the fact that "Virginia is for ♥ers" was in use before Mr. Glaser created "I ♥ NY".
