People can sometimes be tricky and cunning and disappoint you, but dogs do not, they are loyal, it is in their genes. Having said that, the interaction between human-human and human-dog are quite different, and the satisfaction level is different too.

You're so right, not the only one. In fact, whenever a pet of mine dies, my grief lasts longer and is much more intense than when a family member dies. The only disappointment a dog ever gives me is when he passes away.
shareI haven't lost a significant family member yet (my mother died when i was just a baby and I have a wonderful stepmom) but I lost a dog a few years ago and I still feel the pain. I have a new dog now, and a cat, and even though I know I will lose them long before I go anywhere, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to have them be a part of my life.

My old dog has cancer now. I knew he wouldn't live forever but we take it day by day. I love her and I loved this movie. Dogs are such good creatures.

Thank you, fiatlux. We put her to sleep the day after Christmas, when she started to have a lot of trouble breathing. I miss her, but I'm so glad I had her for as long as I did. She was special.
And I do hope I'll see her again.

Cant agree more,there're only 2-3 movies that ever made me cry,and this is one of them,and I cried every time when I watched it.I'm not so much emotional with human tragedy though.
