I can't believe this *beep* is in the Top 250

It's not exactly Citizen Kane or Twelve Angry Men, is it?

reply

No, it's better

reply

Hahahahaha, *beep* me! Almost surreal that this is the same man who directed My Life As A Dog, What's Eating Gilbert Grape and The Cider House Rules. Lasse Hallström really dropped the ball.

reply

this movie is definitely worthy of top 250 (at least closer to 150~250 spot) but now TDK being number 4 is super redunkulous. TDK isn't exactly Citizen Kane or Twelve Angry Men either is it?

reply

It actually is, yes.

reply

Well there goes your dumbass opinion. 'Movies that I like are worthy but movies I don't like aren't worthy'.

You have no soul.

CG GORE IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THE HORROR GENRE!

But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career...

Face it, it was a shi*ty fuc*ing movie that speaks exclusively to the most dimwitted part of your brain - the american one. A sad little film about a sad little dog being loyal to Richard Gere. Hahahhah, fuc* me: Richard fuc*ing Gere!

reply

Except I'm not American.

He's right, you have no soul.

reply

They're right, you have no soul!

reply

you have no soul and you would like to believe that you have an intellect .

reply

ikr, what the hell is this *beep* watched the trailer, doesn't look like anything happens...it's like watching paint dry

reply

I enjoyed the film, but yeah, top 250.... not even close. 5-6/10 tops for me.

reply

Yeah, this is ridiculous. The movie was very poorly written and executed. I know the actual story doesn't give the producers much to work with, but it could have been way more interesting.
I can think of several others animal-orientated movies that are much better and worthy of a higher rating than "Hachiko":
Red Dog (2011), Eight Below (2006), Marley & Me (2008), War Horse (2011), Hidalgo (2004), Mousehunt (1997).

reply

I must belive becouse this movie will stay in Top250 for a long time . etternaly :D

reply

When you get older, you'll understand it and relate to it better.

reply

This is what dog owners want from their pet? That it is so stupidly loyal it pines away and dies? Isn't that a horrible ego thing, surely what you'd want if you loved your dog is that it moved on and found another master or family. It's kinda sick this fetishising of loyalty that includes pointless early death. I know it's a true story, I've seen the statue in real life. But like the other stories of so-loyal-they-be-dead dog tales, it's not inspiring or heart-warming when you think about it. Some dog lovers have cruel fantasies.

On the other hand its hilarious this is the only Richard Gere movie in IMDB's top 250.
