Torture of dogs during this movie

Does anyone know if any dogs were thrown into the water (particularly German Shephards) against their will? The director of this directed A Dog's Purpose where behind the scenes footage showed onlookers watching a trainer trying to force a German Shephard into rapids against it's will.
