What is the importance of Italian Vogue?

Can someone please explain why this would be so important to the girls? I know it's not a major plot point, I've just always been curious about it's significance.

Thank you! 😄

I always thought it was because the magazine was hard to come by in a redneck town where they were from...the girls were really into fashion and the Italians know fashion..so to the girls Italian Vogue was a big deal.

Wasn't one of the girls in a photoshoot in the magazine? The cheerleader?

no she was in another magazine that they bought for 3.85$ or something. the italian vogue was 27 bucks the guy wanted for it i think

I assume Italy, like France, is a huge and highly competitive fashion market so making it there must be a pretty big deal
