for all his attempts at tapping into the female psyche (or at least trying to convince of such, case and point "zoe bell") atc this director remains completely clueless at writing any even ridiculous portrayal of a female character. *beep* queintin, despite all the money and backing in the world, at least one person is still willing to tell you you're a *beep* cock

The girls were mostly ridiculous in this movie, but have you watched Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, or Kill Bill? Great, likable female characters in all of them.

At times the girls in this seemed like they were reading (or parodying, even) a male script. Really bad. But he has written females quite well before and after this.

I think that was the point of this movie though was to be a tribute to exploitation films of the 70s where the roles for women were very much like they were in Death Proof.

I thought that might be it, and makes a lot more sense in that context.
