what were they thinking!!!!!!

do not watch the new version of a room with a view - a awful waste of time. made me want to poke my eyes out.

it didn't have the war of natures or intelligence of either the book or the merchant ivory movie. everything lucy and george said felt forced and there was no chemistry between the two stars at all. the other characters despite being fine actors could not save this - aunt charlotte was mean and annoying with non of the gentleness or honest love that the old spinster had.

did they honestly think all the nudity and implied sex was going to make this a modern version? personally i think the success of a wet mr.darcy has gone to the period makers heads.

also the ending was one of the worst in tv history.

the next day i had to watch the movie to erase the tv from my mind.

THANK YOU. I hated this version, and can only be grateful that we have both the wonderful novel and the 1980's adaptation.

I found George and Lucy to both be far too old for their characters to be believable and to have no chemistry at all.

If "A Room with a View" is meant to be "modern," it's because the characters' feelings and emotions and expiriences and coming-of-age is so universal. Taking that away and then adding a bit of nudity and some "look, we're politically opinionated!" corpses doesn't make the story "modern."

Acting requires me to be very observant... [sitting] in cafes for hours and [watching] people...

Nudity???? Have you seen the 1985 version???? Seriously???? It was my first exposure (pardon the pun) to the full frontal male at age 10. This movie hardly has anything on that one as far as nudity goes. Pick something else to pick on.
