Did anyone actually get to see this at 120fps and 3D?

I've heard some reviewers say they start to "get it" and understand what Ang Lee is going for. According to them, it looks lifelike and very different from anything we've seen before. It's not the 120fps itself, which does make footage look like those soap operas. But it's when 120fps is combined with the 3D that really brings the immersion level together.

I did. I agree with the assessment - definitely more lifelike than your "regular" 3D.

Isnt there only a few cinemas in the world that can show 120fps 4K and 3D?

I think they are in Asia.

While you can't, in any release so far, see the 120 fps/3D version at home, you can see this 2160 (4K)/60 fps clip on YouTube:

It, at least, gives you some idea of the difference the 60 fps rate makes.

Yuck, looks like a soap opera to me.

I don't have a 4K TV yet, so I watched the clip in 1080p and 60 fps on my computer monitor. Looked okay, since I just had the movie on EPIX cable service in HD and 24 fps. The cinematography already had that kind of look, not textured and layered as cinematography usually is. Kind of like you were shooting a travel show instead of a movie.
