It was a Great Movie But...

If you learn nothing else from it, at least know this:

Don't you ever go into a fake jewellery shop in a developing nation's back streets, looking for a train ticket, because you might just get what you asked for.

LOL! yeah I thought this was pretty stupid. I was wondering why they couldn't buy the ticket directly at the train station?

A question that I couldn't help ask myself at the end of the movie is whether he got back his job as a TV producer. Makes me realize how I am totally conditioned to a 9 to 5 lifestyle, I couldn't help myself worrying for him that when he returns, reality is going to kick him in the face and unemployment isn't so great -- even with great memories from trips.

Also, I think backpacking isn't so cheap. You still have to buy plane tickets. Not everyone can afford to leave and spend 20 000$ on a year trip. Travelling is definitely something I would wish to do more, if I won the lottery or something.

But the morale of the movie I think, and what I got out of it which confirms what I already thought on travelling: it doesn't really matter where you go or what you visit, but it's the relationships and the friendships that you will remember and cherish in the end.

Another thing, and that really surprised me, is how blasé they become after a certain time. Makes me wonder if a 2 months trip is preferable to a full year. I wouldn't want to get blasé visiting the world, I get blasé enough with my everyday life.

Im a queen b!tch!
