After Thoughts

Blue Dragon - as we all know by now - is the comeback RPG for the team of Hironobu Sakaguchi, Akira Toriyama, and Nobuo Uematsu. The three previously produced the hit RPG Chrono Trigger. Anyway, I found Blue Dragon to be a rather endearing traditional RPG; the controlled real-timed combat was a nice change. The graphics, while a little juvenile, were simply amazing and very well-done; although, the frame rate was lacking, perhaps they should of made it 60 fps. The music ranged from lame to mediocre to very touching. The camera was quite annoying, you have to be in the mid-ground of the screen or your character will blur. Also, it was a little weird to dig through poo for treasure. Over all, I found Blue Dragon to be a fun little RPG.

I have yet to play Sonata as its not out in Australia yet... butfrom the demo and what I have seen and heard it sounds the superior of the two. However BD is well fun to the point you'll play hours on end without even realizing that its been that long. I'd well say Blue Dragon is worth its money as the length of it is worth it alone but unless you truely like JRPGs it may be hard to get into
