Wheelchair scene?

During the scenes where Om is planning to fool "Mike" with the Shanti look alike, the movie cuts to Om doing a scene in a wheelchair with a bunch of girls around him. I kept wondering how this was important to the plot? Was it just a random scene stuck in there? Why?

Perhaps you missed some parts before this. It's actually Om going to the set of another movie he is filming at the same time, "Apahij Pyar", the same film that he did Dard-E-Disco for a few minutes earlier. It is only to show that as his plan progresses, he becomes more serious about his commitments and life in general and reaches the set on time, and retakes shots to improve the scene. And of course, comic relief.

Of course! I did see the earlier scenes. I don't know. It could have shown him "clocking in" or something more indicative. And what does him being lame have to do with the disco movie he was making? This is humorous. Thank you for your insight. I really enjoyed the movie. :)

Strange, all that you're wondering was there in the movie. When he enters on time, the director of the film and his father state, "It's only 11 o'clock, how is he already here?" And much much before that, he says there will be a dream sequence to showcase the pain the physically handicapped hero is going through which turns into Dard-E-Disco.
So it's actually quite logical (ironic as it seems).
Glad you enjoyed the film, I loved it. It's one of my favourites.

With a movie like this, it's hard to see any logic. Thanks. :)

dear, the logic behind these scene was to show that if a superstar does anything as awkward as this one,it becomes a big hit.....and this part was there to show this thing that how works of stars are being rated....if there is much talent and hardwork done by a little famous guy no one recognises it,unless the director wants to promote him,and even the 'bad' acts of superstars are held high in the arms.

frankly, the whole movie is VERY logical, all the plot points are foreshadowed (like a good screen play aught to)

om and shanti's deaths are foreshadowed big time.

even the fact that shanti's body is buried below the chandelier is foreshadowed when mukesh mehra comes inside the set the first time and then takes a very awkward step back from the center, coz he knows he buried shanti there...

so despite the indian audiences saying that this a no logic, stupid film, the makers have actually put in a LOT of effort into the screenplay. they way everything fits in together is brilliant...

pity farah khan lost her head and made tees maar khan and joker after this...
