why Karan Arjun is a million times better... biggest problem with OSO

SPOILERS

this film was such a hack

was fun to see this parady of 70s films in first half but thats it

OK why this movie sucked and Karan Arjun was a million times better

1) in the second half we see Om reborn with the exact same name... thats taking it too far.. in Karan Arjun Karan and Arjun looked the same but with different names and were born separate and far away from their old lives and with different names... this guy born in the same industry, same name, same looks... how the *beep* did no body EVER recognize him? These guys KILLED the original OM wouldn't they have at least remembered the guys face and thought? wow how odd..

2) the flashbacks. In Om Shanti Om, how Om comes to realize his past life was done so poorly it was laughable. One or two stops to the movie set or whatever and suddenly he just rememberes and accepts everything like oh yeah... no explination necessary. In Karan Arjun, we see both guys have had these recurring flashbacks throughout their lives which is very believable... also both are very hesitant to believe but only come to believe when the odds are so astronomical they must accept rebirth... In OSO this was seriously doone so badly... it was ludicrous...

3) parents. Didn't Om feel like a bit of a douchebag pretty much hauling the old past life family along after accepting what had happened and shunning his real family? In Karan Arjun the delima was handled well in that both were without either parent by the time they came to accept what had happened. no emotional delima. seriously what *beep*

4) the villian. No offense but Arjun Rampal just isn't that scary. OK ok he killed his wife thats horrible, but we are not gut wrenching afraid of this guy. He seriously seems like a sickly little prick. In Karan Arjun we have this entire family of *beep* with Amrish Puri as the terrifying ruthless leader of the family. Who wouldn't be afraid of that guy and his eye bulge trick when he gets mad?

5) the love interest.
the love interest in this movie was flat and ridiculous. How can you feel for Om, a stalker, even more so than the usual staker-like characters that SRK plays? First off, Shanti is married too! What's wrong with her, going around meeting up with Om under darkness and leading him on when she's married and pregnant right? wtf. He's simply an obsessed, crazy fan. In Karan Arjun we really feel for Kajol and Shah Rukh. Of course, great chemistry. But the love interest is not there properly in this film and it's what the whole film is really based on. It's baseless. they never properly fall in love either... obviously she's married all ready!

the only and I mean the ONLY thing that was decent about this over KA is the fact that they had this Om being afraid of fire. Really smart. He died from fire right? Nothing like that in Karan Arjun really. Oh yeah, and he was living his dream from past life. That was cool. That would have been nice to see in Karan Arjun, both are living what their dream lives were...

I HATE HOW MUCH THIS MOVIE SUCKED!!!!

Is it actually credited as an official remake of Karz? The song is there in the begining and the plot is a complete rip?

HEISENBERG WAS HERE.... (I think)

(yes it's a chemistry joke so sue me!)

The subject of Reincarnation in movies is sometimes exciting and Fun to watch. Whats better? i love both but lets analyse...

- Karan Arjun..... (The Plusses)
1. Shahrukh and Salman First time together and great chemistery
2. Great Acting by SRK and Salman
3. Great directing by Rakesh Roshan and decent music.
4. The storyline sounds silly but it was well handled by director.
5. Great scenes (i.e. Karan Arjun Death scene, Ajay Vijay first fight)
.................... (The Minus)
1. Second half starts getting a wee bit slow and drags on
2. The Villains acting was way too cartoonish. Especially Amrish Puri's what a joke son.
3. Mamta's undressing scene was not necessary.
4. Salman Khan does animal cruelty by kicking and punching horse at the final fight scene. Felt sorry for the Horse.
5. Rakhee.... I felt her character was way too unrealistic and therfore her acting i found a wee bit louder and annoying.

NOW..

- Om Shanti OM.... (The Plusses)
1. Launching Deepika.... What a Gem
2. So Many Bollywood Stars in one song and scenes. Getting SRK, Salman, Saif and Sanjay together was a Blast. Seeing Dharmendra and Mithun was Fun.
3. Fabulous acting by SRK, Deepika, Arjun Rampal
4. Superb Music.. (Main agaar kahoon and jag soona soona)
5. Great direction by Farah Khan
6. Amazing Scenes (i.e. SRK and Deepika Fire death scene, filmfare award scene and song and finale twist)
7. Homage to Bollywood in many ways
8. Overall FUN
................ (The Minusses)
1. Second half revenge scenes to plan Arjuns confession are a little slow paced, becomes comedy from serious.
2. Storyline is a bit tooo cheesy. SRK Dies and gets reincarnated. Deepika dies and comes back as a Ghost at the end Plus she has a identical look alike.
3. Kiron Kher is fun at times but also does overact and irritate.
4. It came out in 2006.... You now have every tom dick and harry thinking they are a critic and some will hate Om Shanti Om, strangely they tend to be salman fans...Jeez come on. They are both good actors but SRK has clearly made much better films in their filmography...Fact...

Please do comment.

I definitely agree with you on the parents. Om also totally forgot his current life and personality and seemed to revert back completely to his previous life. Seemed rather disrespectful to his other mother, I don't even know if she was still alive.

As for the love interest, Shanti was never actually in love with Om. That was never the point, so I don't think that was really necessary. I do think the romance between Om and Sandy should've been developed more.

Other than that, I completely disagree with you and think this movie is awesome. I love the music.
