Would you like to see a SW:TFU live action movie?

Was just wondering. I loved the story line and thought that this would make a great live action movie. What are your thoughts?

reply

sure, it would be cool if lucasarts gave it a go....

reply

HAHAHHAAHAHAHA. Thank you. The day that Lucas says 'Hey let's make another Star Wars film' and producers agree is the day the world ends. Trust me.

reply

I have read rumors that they are considering making this into a movie, because of the great story

"Now I know, this hand was created to send guys like you back to hell! - Devil May Cry 4"

reply

Hell Yes! As long as they get a better writer than George Lucas, I'm in. I mean they already have the main star, and itd be a great chance to get Earle Jones back as Vader.

Better than ANOTHER thing set in the Clone Wars at any rate (Genndy's series already was AWESOME and all we needed). In any case, i would pay serious money if this came to theaters. Guess it'd be strange to focus on a new character...but meh, half of the PT's characters were new anyway (It took one movie alone to make Maul and Qui-Gon fan favorites).

reply

I'd like to see this made into a few movies. I want to know more about Starkiller... this game lacked character developnment. I knew he was going to die, but I still got a little sad when he died... just how they did it... but like I said... they should of gone into more depth on WHO Starkiller was. And... I want to know if he was the chosen one... he was VERY strong with the force and in a way he did bring balance to the galaxy (by helping create the Rebellion)

When the rich wage war it's the poor who die.

reply

There's no way he's the chosen one. What's the point in making 3 movies with reference to the "chosen one" when it turns out the real chosen one is a character in a video game that takes place after the films which nobody really cares about.

I don't quite understand what you imply, but I thougth it would be good to leave a few things clear:

1.-Lucas does NOT need the approval of other producers to make a film, the guy is wealthy enough, independent and self sufficient to produce whatever he wishes.

2.-Contrary to popular belief, the prequels were a HUGE success in the box office. Granted, they didn't revolutionize the cinematographic world as their predecessors (different generations, different era) but trust me, they made Lucas much more wealthier.

3.- In any case, I doubt that another live action star wars movie will be done. The saga is pretty much finished, and even Lucas himself has stated that there are no plans for more films of the sort. Most likely, everything we will see related to star wars will be in animation, TV, comics, books and videogames from now on.

Personally I am happy enough with it being this way and having the whole cinematographic saga completed already.

NO NO NO - I thought the storyline was awful. Totally undermined Darth Vader for Episodes IV, V, VI making him look pretty weak next to Starkiller, who let's face it, is just filler in the great scheme of the story. Just didn't feel right for me.

Also, how the hell can they make out Rahm Kota was on the Jedi Council when in none of the films was he seen to be at the council meetings? I accept he could've made reached the rank of Jedi Master between episodes 2 and 3 however for consistency it would've been better to use another of the Jedi council in place of his character.

Are we to believe that despite Starkiller nearly killing and blinding Rahm Kota he decided to forget about all this just because he could sense Starkiller had a boner for Juno Eclipse??

What was the point in Proxy's - "I'm going to kill you" comments mid-game and eventual dual when Starkiller had enough on his plate during the Star Destroyer mission!!

reply

Starkiller didn't have a 'boner' for Juno... well yeah he did. But that's not the reason Kota knew he was good... if you chose to go that way. He looked at it as a sign that Starkiller had something (or someone in this case) to live for. Someone to give up his ties to the Empire for... it's pretty much a love story... just like the rest of the SW saga. The whole saga is one long ass love story.

And PROXY and Starkiller's whole battle on Raxus Prime... had nothing to do with the story... it was just cool... fighting Darth Maul was freaking sweet, although I did expect it.

darth vader programmed proxy to kill starkiller. not just spare with him but to kill him. what better way to train then to fight for your life, all or nothing

reply

Exactly.

When the rich wage war it's the poor who die.

reply

I agree it didn't help the story much, but I think it helped in the end for his character development at the end with him having to carry PROXY back to the ship not knowing if he'd survived. It showed that he was capable of carrying for others and wasn't just a heartless assassin, or a true Sith. Storywise there would probably be a more effective way to do that but like you said, it was just plain cool and it did humanize and help develope Starkiller's character in my opinion.

reply

I was thinking watchin the cut scenes that this should have been the "animated" movie instead of the Clone Wars.

reply

yeah for sure, would have made a much more interesting animated movie.

reply

Why? We already got a video game, a novel, and a graphic novel...

reply

Absolutely. I would have rathered Episodes I and II be combined into I, taking out most of the rubbish pod racing and wooden love scenes, and had THIS be episode 3. Or something to that effect anyway. Either way, I'd love to see this done, if done properly. Perhaps with a little more Vader running around kicking ass. It'd be nice to see him at his full potential.

reply

I actually ripped all of the cutscenes from Youtube and watched them on my iPod (I labeled them as music videos so that they played smoothly, one after the other). It worked, and really felt like a movie (despite missing action since it was only cutscenes). A very good movie, at that.

Griskey's score + the novel's depth + the game's story = GREAT movie

The light side ending also is one of the best Star Wars finales ever, in my opinion. Very beautiful.

RIP J.F, F.W, M.F

You were great friends.

reply

Well a certain site that has oh-so knowledgeable resources (sarcastically refring to the big wiki) says that when Lucas starts the new Star Wars TV series in a few years one volume will be the Force Unleashed. Probably *beep* though.

reply

I'd love to see a live action movie! I'd also love to see the cut scenes released as an animated feature. They would only have to fill in a little bit to have a full animated movie finished.

reply

I've thought ever since the announcement that Disney would be making another Star Wars Trilogy that they should base them on Star Wars: Unleashed 1 and 2.

I'd love to see a CGI animated movie of The Force Unleashed. Or Bioware's The Old Republic game
