Any UK fans of this epic Docu series?

I remember watching this every week as a kid on ITV (if I remember correctly) and it was like a breath of fresh air to me back then, like being taken an an adventure to some alien planet, and in fact unseen parts of the world were alien to me as a kid, but very fascinating. I have not been fortunate enough to view it since then and have just now realised it's actually available on DVD! :D

Anyone remember this?

Well, I saw it on portuguese TV, and I felt just the same. Partly because of this series, I'm still fascinated by that part of the world crossed by the Silk Road...

I just bought the soundtrack by Kitaro! You should seek it out since you loved the series, or PM me if your having trouble getting hold of it ;)

I'm still saving my pennies for the DVD set :D

Yep, this was a good 'un broadcast twice on Channel 4. I'm trying to track down a copy on DVD but it seems it's out of print. A year or so it was available on DVD from Amazon and some HK sites as a rip. If you Google it you'll find some info in the first couple of hits from the Japanese TV company that made it. It took ten years, they say. Anyway it's a good memory of the great days of Channel 4 rather that the too frequent rubbish they have these days. I'll let you know if I can get hold of a copy.
